From Moses to Joshua – Leadership Transition
From Joshua and Deuteronomy, Dr. Mills talks about God's plan to move leadership of the Israelites from the hands of Moses to Joshua. "Do not be afraid" is a recurring statement. "God's future is better than any of our past."

The LORD Will Supply Your Needs

The message today starts with an ancient story about Abraham, and how God supplied all his needs in the face of a daunting challenge. Texts for today come from Philippians 4:19; Genesis 22:1-19

"And my God will supply all your needs

according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus " (Philippians 4:19, NASB).

Pastor's Challenge for today comes from Colossians chapter 3:
And whatever you do or say in this world,
do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks through him to God the Father
     (Colossians 3:17)

    The Cancer of Anger
"Mismanaged anger is counterproductive and can be unhealthy.  When anger is too intense, out of control, misdirected and overly aggressive, it can lead to poor decision making and problem solving, create problems with relationships and at work, and can even affect your health."
Today Pastor Grosvenor addresses this "Cancer of the Soul," using Colossians 3:8 to help us learn how to identify, confront, and resolve our anger.

Seven Practices for Keeping Centered and Sane as Parents

Today Pastor Grosvenor visits Psalm 116, and the story of Hannah (1 Samuel 1-2) as he considers

    the role of godly parents.

Being a MOM is one of the most challenging vocations in life. We have observed it so often:

“The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world”

    Woman, how divine your mission, Here upon our natal sod;

Keep—oh, keep the young heart open Always to the breath of God!

All true trophies of the ages Are from mother-love impearled,  (i.e., made into pearls)

For the hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world.

                                             (v. 3 of poem by Wm. Ross Wallace, 1865)

Just a Little More – The Cancer of Greed
Today's message is from Colossians 3:5-10.

“JUST A LITTLE MORE.”  Our “Manual for Becoming the People God Designed Us To Be” (Colossians) identifies “greed” as one of four cancers that have the potential of destroying our lives, our families, our church and our nation.

    Four Cancers of the Soul

Our “Manual for Becoming the People God Designed Us To Be,” (Letter to the Colossians) identifies four cancers that have the potential of destroying our lives, our families, our church and our nation: sexual immorality, evil desire, greed and anger.

Initial identification of these cancers sounds rather insignificant.  We tend to trivialize them as “weaknesses” that we constantly deal with like the common cold.  They are just parts of life in this world — minor lesions — no big deal.

But they are significant.  St. Paul says that the anger of God is coming because of these behaviors (Colossians 3:6)
