Why Is Sanctification So Important?

Jesus prays for God to sanctify us that we might be united with Him in life (John 17:18, 21-23).

Jesus shifts the focus from “Avoid Sin” TO “Glorify God and Love One Another.”

  •      Love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:28-31)
  •      Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12)
  •      Pursue peace with all people as well as holiness (Hebrews 12:14)

    Every Believer Is a Priest

Christians, because of who you are in Christ Jesus,

you are the frontline for God’s mission in our world today.

You are priests and ministers of God’s grace

in the spirit of which Jesus sent his 12 disciples in mission.

    Living God’s Adventure for You

The theme of our VBS this summer was “Learning to Live God’s Adventure” using the metaphor of an Amusement Park.

Does your life and religion reflect “Adventure” or “Control”?  Does your faith in God lead you to control through rules and doing business right, or is it an adventure?  An “ADVENTURE” is defined as a risky undertaking and a remarkable, exciting experience.

Pastor Grosvenor looks at the worldview of an adventurous man of God, King David, using David's Psalm 23 as text for today's message.

How Can I Discover God’s Will?

“How Can I Discover God’s Will?” is a common question as we pray, “Thy Will Be Done.”

    1. God leads us through His written word (i.e., the Bible)
    2. God leads us through the inner prompting of the Holy Spirit
    3. God leads us through the counsel of wise, qualified, trustworthy people
    4. God leads us into His will by giving us an inner assurance of peace

Thy Will Be Done Part 3
    Big Questions:
What happens if I make a wrong choice and miss the perfect will of God?

Have I sinned?  Am I doomed?  Do I have to settle for a second rate life?

    What if God loves me?

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him (John 3:16-17, NLT).
